Water Billing
How it works
We pay what the city bills us. Each unit's water meter only decides how that bill is split.
- Water usage on the city bill is split by each unit's share of the metered gallons.
- Fixed charges (base fees) are split equally between all units.
- Our meters vs. the city: the totals never match exactly. We pay the city's number; our meters only set the shares.
- Meter offline or no data: those hours are estimated from the unit's own average at the same time of day, if it has at least 3 online days for those hours. Otherwise the other units' average is used. Each period lists every estimate.
- No meter yet: the unit is billed at the other units' average.
- Rounding: amounts are rounded to the cent so they always add up exactly to the city bill.
- Privacy: only daily totals are shown, never hourly usage.
